Children and adults with ASD find it hard to communicate and interact with others and to relate to the outside world. In some cases, they may be aggressive and/or hurt themselves.
Some characteristics of ASD include repeated body movements (eg hand flapping, rocking), unusual responses to people, emotional attachment to objects and resistance to changes in routines. People with ASD may also experience learning difficulties and sensitivities in sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste.
