Funding

A range of agencies offer information on extra income for families. There is funding available from voluntary agencies and charities to fund school placements, holidays and equipment for children and families.

Disability Living Allowance is a tax-free benefit paid to you if you are under age 65 and need help with personal care, getting around, or both because of an illness or disability. The rate payable depends on your care and mobility requirements - it can also be claimed for children.

The Family Fund is a registered charity covering the whole of the UK and is funded by the national governments of England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. They can provide grants to families with severely disabled or seriously ill children.

The Educational Grants Advisory Service (EGAS) offers guidance and advice on funding for those studying in post-16 education in the UK.

Jet Charity helps children who have suffered tragedy or trauma at home or are at risk in some way. They may be able to provide funding for education for children who meet their criteria.
